Youth Ballet West was established three years ago to allow young gifted dancers from across the West of Ireland to develop their talent locally while remaining at their studies. The group is funded by the Arts Council under its Annual Programming Grants scheme, and classes are free for these talented dancers aged between 13 and 23 who are selected during an audition process.
“By forming the company we were able to increase performance opportunities and bring ballet really into the public eye in Galway,” says Director Phyllis Hayes who along with her sister Judith Sibley , the Artistic Director , founded the company in 2007.
